The Pendry Residences West Hollywood celebrated its one-year anniversary by setting the record for the most expensive L.A. condo sale price this year and the fourth highest sale price in history. The property’s penthouse sold for $21.5 million in July.
Overlooking the Hollywood Hills and downtown, the penthouse condo spans the entire 10th floor of the Pendry Residences. The property has 6,301 square feet of interior space and a 2,782-square-foot wrap-around terrace. The penthouse’s undisclosed buyer will have full control over layout and design.
The Pendry Residences, which was created by Montage International, is a collection of 40 private residences ranging from 2,900 to 6,000 square feet starting at $5 million. Nearly half of the Pendry condos have been sold.
The Pendry was represented by Taaseen Qureshi of PowerPlay, and the undisclosed buyer by Hobin Co.’s Molly Williams in the sale.
This is not the first pricey deal at Pendry Residences. Last year, a 2,700-square-foot condo sold at $13 million, or $4,848 a square foot, the highest price-per-square-foot in the history of condo sales in Los Angeles.
The latest sale works out to $3,412 per square foot. L.A.’s most expensive condominium sale took place in 2010, when Candy Spelling purchased a 15,555-square-foot unit at the Century for $35 million.
The residences sit next to the 149-room Pendry hotel, meaning owners can also enjoy access to hotel amenities including a rooftop pool, wine-tasting room, landscaped gardens, lounge, fitness facility and private entry and elevators.
