Onni Group of Cos.’ Wilshire Courtyard office campus in Miracle Mile has signed a long-term, multi-floor lease totaling 225,239 square feet with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Sony Pictures Entertainment — a subsidiary of Sony Group Corp. —  leased a significant portion of the six-story building located at 5750 Wilshire Blvd. The company is relocating select divisions from nearby Culver City, including Sony Pictures Animation, visual effects firm Imageworks and anime streaming service Crunchyroll. About 700 employees will be relocated to Wilshire Courtyard in June of next year.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Josh Bernstein, Peter Collins, Scott Menkus and Alexa Delahooke represented Onni Group in the transaction. Onni’s Neal Linthicum managed the transaction on Onni’s behalf. Savills’ Josh Gorin and Mike Catalano represented Sony.

Sony Pictures Animation had been at 9050 Washington Blvd. for 25 years.

Hackman Capital Partners and Square Mile Capital Management had purchased the Culver City building in January 2021 for $160 million.

Wilshire Courtyard is comprised of two trophy six-story class A office buildings located at 5700 and 5750 Wilshire Blvd totaling approximately 1 million square feet. The buildings were originally developed in the late 1980s but underwent significant interior and exterior renovations in 2015 after then-owner Tishman Speyer had acquired the property from RREEF Property Trust for $423 million. The campus is certified LEED Gold.

The Wilshire Courtyard features numerous on-site amenities, including its 125-tiered outdoor balconies for indoor/outdoor work, an Equinox Fitness on site, newly renovated common areas and plazas, and a park with a jogging trail.
