RWBID Merges with NY-Based Firm

New York-based Cumming Group, formerly based in Los Angeles, acquires Hermosa Beach-based construction management firm RWBID.

Local construction management and advisory firm RWBID has merged with New York-based international construction consultancy Cumming Group. RWBID, established in 2010 and based in Hermosa Beach, specializes in projects relating to the civic justice, public safety, health care, recreation, library and education sectors.

“We are excited to join the industry-leading team at Cumming Group,” Matthew Feldhaus, RWBID’s president and founder, said in a statement. “We look forward to working together to leverage its expanded services and deep expertise and deliver even greater value to our clients and team.”

The two companies have previously collaborated on multiple Southern California projects. Cumming Group said the partnership strengthens its public sector capabilities while allowing the firm to expand its presence in the greater Los Angeles region.

“The addition of the RWBID team reinforces our commitment to the greater Los Angeles area, a key market where we have operated for nearly 30 years,” Derek Hutchinson, chief executive and president of Cumming Group, said in a statement.

Previously based in downtown, Cumming Group relocated its headquarters to Seattle in 2021 before settling down in New York two years later, while still retaining its downtown digits. Following the merger, the combined Southern California team will have 200 employees.
