About 19 months after the Palisades Fire devastated the bulk of Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood, a signature gathering point for the community is poised to reopen.
Commercial real estate firm Caruso – the namesake empire of billionaire developer Rick Caruso – is hosting the grand reopening of its Palisades Village retail center on Aug. 15. The reopening will bring a full day of events, immersive experiences and other celebrations as Pacific Palisades continues its rebuilding efforts.
“Following the heartbreaking fires of 2025, the Palisades community has worked tirelessly toward this moment of renewal,” said Caruso, who serves as executive chair of the Fairfax-based company. “We promised to come back better than before the fires, and we did. This is a moment to turn the page together, and it will be an unforgettable one. It’s a comeback story for the history books and a love letter to L.A.”
Returning retail
Although the $200 million Palisades Village was largely spared from the worst destruction to the upscale L.A. neighborhood – thanks in part to construction with fire-resistant material and a private firefighting force – it did require significant remediation to remove the various contaminants associated with wildfires. Certain buildings were demolished and rebuilt as part of the renovation efforts.
The anchor retail development will bring back a slew of familiar names when it reopens.
Luxury fashion retailers Elysewalker, Veronica Beard, Brunello Cucinelli and Zimmermann, eatery Blue Ribbon Sushi, and upscale grocer Erewhon are among the returning names.
Among the newcomers, Chef Nancy Silverton is launching her brand new Italian steakhouse Spacca Tutto at Palisades Village.
The center will also host fashion company Leset’s first West Coast location as well as Beverly Grove-based beauty firm Violet Grey and downtown-based Xirena.
All told, Palisades Village is 99% leased ahead of its reopening.
“Palisades Village has always been defined by the strength and quality of its shopping and dining collection with a curated mix of best-in-class businesses that creates a truly differentiated destination,” said Corinne Verdery, Caruso’s chief executive, in a statement. “We’re proud to bring this experience back for the community and to once again set the standard for what a neighborhood village can be.”
