The 10-year lease is for a Sares Regis Group property measuring roughly 87,500 square feet at 3550 Carson St.
Lee and Associates’ Doug Marshall and Ian Ameche represented Morf3D in the lease. CBRE Group Inc.’s John Schumacher, and Bret Quinlan represented Sares Regis.
Morf3D already occupies a 13,000-square-foot space in El Segundo but needed to expand.
“We put them in El Segundo five or six years ago next to Boeing,” Ameche said. “They were limited by the space on the amount of printers they could have. The reason for this space is they can stack 50 or 60 of the printers that are very expensive and really uptick the manufacturing capability of the company.”
Ameche said that for now the company will retain its El Segundo office, “but their plans with that space remain to be seen. There’s going to be some overlap with the build-out time for their new space.”
Beyond the size of the Long Beach space, he said, the area was appealing for a few other reasons.
First, Ameche said, rents in the area are less expensive than in some other industrial markets. The building is also part of Pacific Pointe, a large master-planned development.
The building “is a brand-new, turnkey facility,” according to Ameche, who said there are other tenants in the same industry in the surrounding buildings, which is a huge plus.
He expects Morf3D to move in over the next few months.
