College Health to Acquire Glendora Oaks Hospital

The state Attorney General has given conditional approval to the $24.3 million sale of Glendora Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital to Santa Fe Springs-based College Health Enterprises.

College Health Enterprises will take ownership from Prime Healthcare Foundation, a nonprofit health system based in Ontario that established the facility in 2019.

“In 2019, Prime converted Glendora Community Hospital to Glendora Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital, investing more than $14 million through substantial facility and equipment upgrades,” said Prime Health spokeswoman Elizabeth Nikels, "i
ncluding the recent 23-bed expansion of the existing gero-psych unit at the facility and dedicating the hospital purely to the behavioral health needs of seniors in the area."

College Health specializes in behavioral health services and runs four other Southern California hospitals, including College Hospital Cerritos and College Medical Center in Long Beach.

College Health has already worked with Prime Healthcare to increase the number of acute psychiatric licensed beds at Glendora Oaks to 63. It has plans to continue adding beds as it takes over operations.

The sale is expected to close by the end of June.
