Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. announced on July 21 it has entered into a partnership with Tom Brady-backed NFT platform Autograph, which will create collectible digital content for the studio.

Lionsgate will partner with Autograph for collectibles based on the studio’s film and TV properties, including “John Wick,” “The Twilight Saga,” “The Hunger Games,” “Dirty Dancing” and “Mad Men.”

Autograph will also sell sports-related NFTs exclusively on DraftKings Inc.’s Marketplace.

The platform has exclusive multiyear deals with Naomi Osaka, Derek Jeter, Tiger Woods, Wayne Gretzky and Tony Hawk, who will be joining the company’s advisory board.

“We’re delighted to partner with best-in-class Autograph to launch our leading film and television properties in the fast-growing NFT marketplace,” Jenefer Brown, executive vice president and head of Lionsgate Global Live, Interactive & Location-Based Entertainment, said in a statement.

“NFTs present a tremendous opportunity for mixed-reality world-building experiences, deepening user engagement and interaction, and fostering a community for our hundreds of millions of global consumers to create one-of-a-kind digital collections, and Autograph is the optimal destination for this discovery,” she added.

NFTs, or nonfungible tokens, are collectible data whose ownership is stored on a digital ledger, certifying their uniqueness.

“Nonfungible” means they are not interchangeable like traditional currency, and ownership is separate from copyright.

Autograph plans to launch its NFT platform alongside DraftKings Marketplace later this summer. Currently, users can sign up to be members and tokenize their names for free.

In the future, DraftKings Marketplace will host curated NFT drops, and its customers will gain access to buy, sell and trade digital collectibles using their DraftKings accounts.
