TCG Leads $40 Million Collectibles Marketplace Investment

Playa Vista-based investment firm Chernin Group has led a $40 million funding round in New Jersey-based collectibles marketplace Goldin Auctions.
 
A number of noteworthy investors joined the round including Mark Cuban, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, YouTube content creator Logan Paul and Zillow Group Inc. and Hotwire Inc. co-founder Spencer Rascoff.


Goldin Auctions was founded by Ken Goldin in 2012. The company acts as an online marketplace focused on trading cards, memorabilia and other collectibles. Goldin Auctions said it has grown from a startup grossing $800,000 in its first year, to more than $100 million last year. To date, the company said, it has sold more than $1 billion worth of memorabilia.
