Workforce management software developer Forge Technologies Inc.’s national headquarters is moving from San Francisco to Playa Vista and the company announced Feb. 28 the acquisition of Huntington Beach-based shift scheduling application developer ShiftMe Inc. Both companies decline to disclose the terms of the acquisition.

ShiftMe develops and runs a mobile application that lets employees switch shifts and communicate with their employers. The app will be added to Forge Technologies’ existing offerings, which include talent sharing, training and scheduling software for hourly managers and employees.

Forge Technologies Chief Executive Stacey Ferreira said in an email that Forge’s office officially opened Jan. 1 to help existing employees transition to the new location. She said the company is currently hiring new staff in LA.

ShiftMe will move its operations to Forge’s Playa Vista headquarters.

“We share an immense dedication to innovating work-life practices for all and improving the lives of millions, (and) are thrilled to join Forge as we expand into new geographies this year,” ShiftMe Chief Executive Megan Hottman said.
