Hugh Hefner Shows ‘Em How to Do It

Playboy Enterprises founder Hugh Hefner is, well, a playboy. But he’s also always been an entrepreneur and a good one at that.

And that’s why the L.A. chapter of the Entrepreneur’s Organization honored him during a national fundraising event it hosted Sept. 26 at Hefner’s Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills.

Entrepreneur’s Organization is a global non-profit organization of entrepreneurs under the age of 50 who have founded or own companies with revenues exceeding $1 million.

It proved to be quite an event as more than 1,600 entrepreneurs and guests (most of whom had to be shuttled in by bus) crowded onto the mansion grounds for an evening of entertainment, complete with acrobatics from Cirque Berzerk, flame throwers above the famed grotto, and, of course, the requisite Playboy bunnies.

The main event came when EO-Los Angeles chapter President Kirsten Bradford presented Hefner with a lifetime honorary membership to the L.A. chapter.

The 83-year-old Hefner, wearing his trademark smoking jacket, quipped: “My definition of an entrepreneur is being able to accept an award of this kind in my own backyard dressed in pajamas.”
