3D and visual technology developer RealD Inc. announced Monday it signed a deal with Beijing, China-based Wanda Cinema Line Corp. to install RealD 3D film screens into 100 of its theaters across China.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The agreement continues an ongoing business relationship between Real D, based in Beverly Hills, and Wanda Cinema. It also overlaps another agreement the two signed in 2016, which RealD describes as “the world’s largest 3D system installation agreement” to add 4,000 RealD 3D systems in four years.

Four of the proposed 100 screens will be installed in four Wanda Cinema-owned theaters in Beijing by March 2019.

“Together with Wanda, we look forward to further enhancing the premium experience to the widest possible Chinese audience and are thrilled to be playing this vital role with the premiere exhibition partner in the world,” said Edman Chan, general manager of RealD’s Asia Pacific division. “Wanda’s development of premium screens mirrors the growth of the Chinese cinema business, particularly the need to upgrade the customer experience with more premium offerings.”

RealD’s funding since its 1980 inception totals $72 million, according to funding tracker Crunchbase. Burbank-based Shamrock Holdings, a holding company of Shamrock Capital Partners, invested in RealD’s 2007 $50 million Series D round.
