OBB Media, an award-winning production company, has opened OBB Studios in Hollywood.
The West Hollywood-based company founded and led by entrepreneur Michael D. Ratner offers a variety of services through its new studio, including audio and video content production, events, brand and nonprofit activations, screenings, photography, post-production and live shows.
Its 15,000-square-foot building is located at Santa Monica Boulevard and Orange Drive in a space formerly occupied by Siren Studios. OBB Media spent “millions” to renovate the space, according to a release from the company.
The launch of OBB Studios represents the next phase in the entertainment company’s rapid evolution as one of the few independent production companies to successfully make the jump to becoming a full-fledged media studio, the release said.
The facility includes two large filming stages, one of which features VFX capabilities, 13 support rooms, including hair and makeup, wardrobe, two green rooms, conference space, and open area workspace, the release added.
Additionally, the facility includes a robust post-production capability, including a mix room, coloring suite and offline editing space, creating an environment equipped to handle ideation-to-delivery for an assortment of projects, the release continued.
The facility also includes two rooms for podcast and live music recording, and a vocal booth for automated dialogue replacement (ADR) and voice recording, the release said.
Since founding OBB Media in 2016, the company has a hand in making every aspect of every project that comes through its doors, Ratner said.
“The launch of OBB Studios is the most exciting evolution of this approach yet, giving OBB and our valued partners the ability to host each stage of production — from ideation, through production, post-production, marketing, and launch — in house,” Ratner said in a statement. “I want to thank our team at OBB for the relentless work in making this a reality.”
Scott Ratner, chief operating officer and co-founder of OBB Media — and Michael Ratner’s older brother — said in a statement, “The launch of this state-of-the-art facility has been multiple years in the making and represents a major milestone in the growth trajectory of OBB Media as an all-inclusive media studio offering everything from creative to production to post-production and marketing capabilities.”
OBB Media is the parent company of OBB Pictures, OBB Studios, OBB Sound, OBB Branded and OBB Cares.
OBB Pictures is the creative studio behind the Grammy nominated “Justin Bieber: Our World,” Kevin Hart’s “Cold As Balls,” now in its eighth season, Netflix’s “Historical Roasts,” and “Who’s In My Bathroom?” with Hailey Rhode Bieber.
OBB Sound produces a diverse lineup of podcasts, including “Too Long; Didn’t Watch” with Rolling Stone, and “The Pursuit of Healthiness” with Blake Griffin; OBB Branded handles campaigns for Apple Music, Pepsi, Old Spice, Kylie Cosmetics and Lexus, among others.
The company’s social impact arm OBB Cares is committed to social good and focuses its resources on mental health awareness, civic youth engagement and sustainable production practices, the company’s release said.
