Loop Media Inc. has launched three new channels – one focused on entertainment, another on sports and the third based on a Canadian TV series.
Additionally, the Glendale-based short form and music video distributor expanded to Canada last month.
The US Weekly channel, Just For Laughs Gags channel and Sports Highlights Channel are available exclusively through Loop’s proprietary Loop Player for businesses.
The company said on April 14 it had launched its new Sports Highlights Channel featuring around-the-clock sports headlines and highlights from the major leagues and sporting events worldwide.
The new channel will provide viewers with up-to-date scores and other information from major sporting events from Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the National Hockey League, the Professional Golfer’s Association of America and Major League Soccer, as well as college sports, motor sports, tennis and others.
Launching at the same time is the SportsLoop ticker, a proprietary widget that businesses can use to turn any Loop TV channel into a sports channel. The SportsLoop ticker will provide real time news, scores and schedules for all major league and college sports.
Bob Gruters, chief revenue officer for Loop Media, said that sports channels connect fans to their favorite teams and with each other.
“With Loop’s exclusive Sports News Highlights channel and 24/7 SportsLoop ticker, sports fans never miss a moment of the action,” Gruters said in a statement. “Fans will love watching, businesses will love hosting, and advertisers will love streaming – everybody wins.”
Sports News Highlights is provided by Bridge Media Networks in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and the data for the SportsLoop ticker is provided by Stats Perform, a sports data and predictive analytics company based in London.
With US Weekly, the pop culture and celebrity news magazine, Loop launched the US Weekly channel.
The channel features celebrity news, photos, style tips and exclusive video content. Us Weekly on Loop TV features hundreds of clips, refreshed daily and produced for out of home viewing, according to a March 21 release from the company.
Also live on Loop TV is the Just For Laughs Gags channel, based on a Canadian series.
The channel features hidden camera stunts and pranks that capture unsuspecting subjects and their responses. It is designed to work with or without audio and Loop has formatted it to be optimized to entertain patrons of businesses of all kinds, according to the company.
Greg Drebin, chief content officer at Loop Media, said the company is always looking at ways to expand its video content that helps create engaging environments for its clients and their customers.
“Us Weekly and Just For Laughs Gags expand categories that we know are popular: celebrity news and visual humor,” Drebin said. “These new channels fit seamlessly into our ever expanding channel lineup and are a very valuable addition for our clients as they look to enhance and define their venues’ environment.”
And finally, Loop Media expanded into Canada with a partnership with St. Louis Bar and Grill, a chicken wing franchise.
The partnership will feature curated content from TikTok, who partnered with Loop in October, which will stream directly to St. Louis Bar and Grill’s 75 locations across the country. The service began March 13.
TikTok is a video-hosting service owned by ByteDance Ltd. based in Beijing, China.
Jon Niermann, chief executive and co-founder of Loop Media, said that the partnership with the Toronto-based restaurant chain was a big step for the company as it represents its first true expansion outside the United States.
“To remain competitive, businesses need to create curated experiences to drive brand loyalty and in-store connections that align with customer values,” Niermann said in a statement. “Streaming TikTok’s channel, which is power.
