Janie’s Fund, the charity that helps neglected and abused girls started by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, held its 6th annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards viewing party on Feb. 2 at the Hollywood Palladium.
Hosted by Tiffany Haddish, the event featured a jam session with a lineup that included Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Nuno Bettencourt. On top of that, members of Aerosmith reunited for a special performance.
The event united A-listers and entertainment icons with more than 100 firefighters who have been at the forefront of combating the Los Angeles area wildfires.
“Music has healing powers, and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires,” Tyler, a Hollywood resident, said in a statement. “The trauma experienced by the girls we work with is also unthinkable and we will continue to shed light and support the amazing work of Janie’s Fund.”
The evening featured a red carpet, cocktail reception, dinner, live auction and exclusive after-party benefitting Janie’s Fund, as well as supporting the Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firefighters Fund and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation by raising funds for lifesaving equipment and resources, according to a release from Janie’s Fund.
Event chairs included Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Andrea Bocelli, Bill Maher, Bo Derek, Dolly Parton, Flavor Flav, Jane Lynch, Lionel Richie, Melissa Joan Hart, Miley Cyrus, Nuno Bettencourt, Paula Abdul, Sammy Hagar and Scarlett Johansson, among others.
Named after Aerosmith’s 1989 hit “Janie’s Got a Gun,” which tells the story of a young girl who was abused by her father, Janie’s Fund provides hope and healing for girls who have survived the trauma of abuse and neglect.
