Entertainment Weekly to Move to Los Angeles

Time Inc. said Wednesday it would relocate the headquarters of Entertainment Weekly to Los Angeles in March 2018. EW Editor-in-Chief Henry Goldblatt will relocate to L.A., continuing his leadership under Jess Cagle, editorial director of Time’s Style and Entertainment Group.

Goldblatt will join Ellie Duque, senior vice president of Entertainment Group Sales and EW Brand Sales, in the Los Angeles bureau.

The move is thought to bring the entertainment publication, founded in 1990, closer to the industry it covers. EW will move into Time Inc.’s West Los Angeles office, which also houses the West Coast bureau of People, as well as some of Time Inc.’s other brands and departments. A new video and television studio opened in the building earlier this year.

“Henry and his team have skillfully set up EW for continued growth by building out new revenue streams and brand extensions in television, video, radio, OTT, live media and other digital and social platforms, including our EW Snapchat channel,” said Cagle. “With our beautiful new television studio in close proximately to the Hollywood community, we expect it to become a frequent destination for talent.”
