DC Films President Walter Hamada has signed a new deal that will keep him at the helm of the Warner Bros. division through 2023, according to multiple reports.

Hamada has led Burbank-based DC Films since 2018, when he succeeded Geoff Johns and Jon Berg.

He will continue to guide DC Films' theatrical releases as well as the studio's projects for Warner's HBO Max streaming service.

The DC Films universe includes the recent hit "Wonder Woman 1984," which was released in theaters and on HBO Max on Christmas Day, along with projects for DC characters such as Batman, Superman and the Flash.

Hamada will continue to report to Warner Bros. Picture Group Chairman Toby Emmerich.

“Walter is not only passionate about story and the DC canon, he’s also a thoughtful and incredibly talented executive who is fully committed to investing the time and care necessary for moviemaking on this scale,” Emmerich said in a statement.

“With Walter overseeing our DC movies for theatrical exhibition and on HBO Max, we are excited for him and his team to bring more of these stories to life, working with new and established talent to broaden the reach and diversity of the DC cinematic universe," he added.

Prior to joining DC Films, Hamada served as executive vice president of production for Warner’s New Line Cinema, where he helped guide “The Conjuring, “Final Destination,” and “Annabelle” franchises.

Hamada spent 10 years at New Line.

He started his career at TriStar, a Sony Pictures label, and later became the president of production at Columbia Pictures.
