Mary Gu Shuhang has been appointed chief executive of CAA China, a Beijing-based media and entertainment platform created earlier this year between Century City’s Creative Artists Agency and CMC Capital Partners.
Shanghai-based CMC is an investment fund that focuses on the media and entertainment, internet and mobile sectors, among others. The firm also holds a minority stake in CAA.
Gu comes to the post from a position as regional president and managing director, East Asia, for Special Olympics International.
CAA said in a statement the executive will be responsible for growing the agency’s efforts in sports and entertainment in the Chinese market.
