Retail giant Walmart will distribute meal replacement maker Soylent, giving its Los Angeles downtown parent company, Rosa Foods Inc., a major boost.

Soylent, a powder that claims to be packed with all the essential nutrients a human needs to survive, has become a favorite of tech set.

Five of Soylent’s drinks, including a four-bottle multipack, will be distributed in 4,378 US Walmart stores. Soylent first appeared in 400 of the retailer’s stores in April, but the company said its distribution grew with demand.

The company, which was founded in 2013, has run into some problems expanding into certain markets. Canadian regulators rejected the meal-in-a-bottle in 2017 and despite work with the government, Soylent has not been able to get the product on Canadian shelves.
