Kim Kardashian's Culver City-based Skims will be the official shapewear and loungewear provider for Team USA at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.

The licensing deal, announced June 28 in an Instagram post by Kardashian, will feature a limited-edition collection with the American Flag and the Team USA logo for female athletes participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve heard every single detail about the Olympics from my stepdad,” Kardashian posted on Instagram in reference to Olympic gold medal winner Caitlyn Jenner. “When I received the call inviting Skims to be a part of @TeamUSA, every moment I’ve spent admiring the strength and energy of the Olympians from the sidelines came full circle.”

Skims-designed undergarments, pajamas and loungewear for the Olympic team will be based on the brand’s best-selling items, including cotton boxers, high-waisted leggings, sleep bralettes, stretchy briefs, and jersey knit tanks and T-shirts.

The collection was showcased by Paralympian Scout Bassett, track and field athlete Dalilah Muhammad, soccer player Alex Morgan and swimmer Haley Anderson, who modeled the loungewear in a post on Kardashian’s Instagram account.

The loungewear will be available for customers to purchase on the Skims website on July 12, a little less than two weeks before the start of the 2021 Olympic Games on July 23.

“Skims' shared mission and values of empowerment and inclusivity made the brand the perfect fit for Team USA,” said Peter Zeytoonjian, senior vice president of consumer products at U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Properties in a statement.

“Our top priority is providing our athletes with the tools and support needed to compete at the highest level, and we’re excited to work with SKIMS to bring this unparalleled level of comfort to Team USA athletes and fans,” he added.

Launched in 2019, Skims was valued at $1.6 billion in April after raising $154 million between a Series A and Series A-1 funding from investors including Imaginary Ventures, Thrive Capital and Alliance Consumer Growth, according to Forbes.

Kardashian and co-founder Jens Grede control the majority stake in the company.
