Miso Robotics is known for developing robotic equipment that is used by various restaurant chains, including through partnerships with White Castle, Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., Cali Group and Panera Bread. Hull stepped in as Miso’s chief executive last year after about three years with Hispanic-focused streaming service Vix Inc., which was acquired in 2021 by TelevisaUnivision. Miso’s products, including Flippy and Sippy, automate commercial cooking tasks such as frying foods and making burgers. Hull previously served as founder and chief executive of Avalanche! Capital, where he built a portfolio of 30 tech and media investments, including Miso. He also founded and led Avalanche! Entertainment, where he worked with major U.S. studios as a film producer and financier. At the beginning of the year, Miso announced a joint venture with CaliGroup to open a robotics-run restaurant in Pasadena called CaliExpress, with a total investment exceeding $1 million. Hull is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He also co-founded Vanderbilt-in-Hollywood, a nonprofit that places students into entertainment industry internships and awards needs-based scholarships.
