Prior to co-founding equity crowdfunding platform StartEngine in 2015, Marks was chief executive of Acclaim Games and co-founded Activision Blizzard Inc. with its former chief executive, Bobby Kotick. He was the chair of Activision Studios from 1991 to 1997. StartEngine, an equity crowdfunding platform, helped tech startups raise more than $700 million as of last May. Marks was a member of then-Mayor Eric Garcetti’s technology council and received the Treasure of Los Angeles award in 2015.
