Elbaz is a serial entrepreneur who has helped to found companies such as a web crawl-data platform Common Crawl Foundation, venture capital firm TenOneTen Ventures, software developer Applied Semantics and location-data company Factual Inc. His career began as a programmer and database administrator at International Business Machines Corp., and he later served as a trustee at the California Institute of Technology and an engineering director at Google LLC. Elbaz currently serves on the board of location technology company FourSquare and nonprofit XPrize Foundation, the latter of which designs and hosts public competitions intended to encourage technological development.
