DeGiorgio founded Marina del Rey-based Crexi in 2015 after identifying a need to create an open marketplace and technology solution for the commercial real estate industry. He earned his business degree from Northern Illinois University, from which he won the 2018 Outstanding Young Alumni award and where he also serves as a visiting lecturer teaching entrepreneurship to business students.
What’s the best advice you ever got?
Comfort and progress don’t go together well. If the circumstances prompt you to push yourself out of your comfort zone, don’t fight it. Change is good – don’t be afraid to seek it out. Stay agile, nimble, flexible and keep experimenting.
What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
It’s hard to choose a favorite movie. I’d say “Gladiator” or “Meet the Parents.” Both classics.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Travel is at the top of my bucket list. So many places I’d like to go – Asia would be incredible. Very interested in other cultures and seeing how business is done in other countries.
What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
There are so many wonderful things about living in Los Angeles. The diversity of the city, world-class food, perfect weather, golf year-round, beaches and mountains, which are good for the soul. Los Angeles has a little of something for everyone.
And the worst?
It’s cliche, but traffic is definitely the worst part of Los Angeles. So many amazing places to see – just can’t go at the wrong time of day.
