Ward serves as a managing director at JLL and co-leads the firm’s Los Angeles agency leasing practice, splitting her time between the firm’s west Los Angeles and downtown offices. Her experience includes landlord, tenant, local market and sale advisory roles, with a primary focus on agency representation on the Westside and Los Angeles’ emerging creative office submarkets.
What’s the best advice you ever got?
Pay it forward. All of my best advice has come from my father, and it’s hard to choose just one.
What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
While I’d love to say “The Godfather” or something iconic and deeply provocative, it’s “Father of the Bride” for me. A classic Nancy Myers movie, it’s one I was brought up on, feels like home and has been like a comfort food throughout various phases of my life. Tough to beat Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Martin Short for me.
What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles? Does anyone ever say anything but the weather?
Whenever I go home to Chicago in the spring, I often question my move to Los Angeles … then I go back for winter visits and am reminded how incredibly lucky we are in Los Angeles.
And the worst?
The double-edged sword of the weather is that without seasons, the days and years blend together without chapters.
