Simon is the founder and managing principal of Bardas Investment Group, a real estate development and investment firm founded in 2018 that focuses on developing creative environments for the media and entertainment industries. Through the Echelon brand, the company’s focus includes the development of studio lots, sound stages, production space and other creative environments. During his 30-year career in Southern California Simon has led investment and development projects in excess of $10 billion. He holds a master’s degree in real estate development from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
What’s the best advice you ever got?
Treat challenges in life as opportunities without expectations – results will be much more fulfilling.
What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” – one of the best films processed by Technicolor. “Goodfellas” is at the top of my list as well.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Seeing the Northern Lights.
What was your first car?
A used 1975 Pontiac Grand Ville with 90,000 miles – it had the most powerful engine Pontiac produced. Great for a teenager!

Would love to have it back with all the same rusty holes.
What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
Great climate, rich culture, a haven for creatives, mountains, beaches and culinary excitement.
