Smith is a senior managing director and the broker lead for JLL’s Los Angeles brokerage division, where he oversees the business operations of the leasing, tenant representation and industrial teams throughout downtown, the Inland Empire, West Los Angeles, South Bay and North Los Angeles, focusing on growth initiatives. With 25 years of commercial real estate experience, Smith has worked in the Los Angeles market for the duration of his career.

What’s the best advice you ever got?
When things are bad, they aren’t that bad, and when things are good, they aren’t that good either. Manage your highs and lows.

What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
“Jerry Maguire.” It’s a sports movie similar to what we do in brokerage.

What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Take a trip to Paris with my wife!

What was your first car?
Red Chevy Blazer. Like to have it back? No. A 4-cylinder is not so fast now.

What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
Climate and diversity.
