Since Poms founded the insurance and risk control firm Poms & Associates in 1991, he has grown the Calabasas company to more than 100 employees and to be a top 50 private firm with more than $50 million in annual revenue. One of the firm’s top clients is the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority. Poms also serves on the board of trustees for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation. He was inducted into the Insurance Business America Hall of Fame in 2020.
