Chair, Chief Executive, Sony Pictures Entertainment
Heading the smallest of Hollywood’s five major movie studios, Vinciquerra navigates the video streaming revolution as an “arms dealer” — auctioning rights to its content to the highest bidder. The results are fat quarterly profits from content sales and not investing billions to launch a mass-market streaming platform, as the other four majors did. Three years ago, Netflix and Disney locked in five-year deals to license Sony content. In November 2022, Legendary Entertainment contracted to distribute its films via Sony. Vinciquerra joined Culver City-based Sony in 2017, and previously worked in private equity and for Fox. From 2011 – 2017, he served as senior advisor to Texas Pacific Group in the technology, media and telecom sectors He currently sits on the Qualcomm Board of Directors, the American Film Institute Board of Trustees, and the board of Madison Square Garden Sports Corp.
