Audiences lined up for in-person events that reopened after the pandemic, which is a boon for the Rapino-led concert giant, which annually puts on 40,000 shows, 100-plus festivals and sells 500 million tickets a year. In March of last year, Live Nation bought a majority of Hong Kong-based concert/events promoter Clockenflap and in September 2022 acquired German festival/booking outfit Goodlive. However, challenges multiplied after a ticketing meltdown for Taylor Swift concerts in November 2022 put the company’s Ticketmaster unit in the crosshairs of regulators. Rapino was named CEO of Beverly Hills-based Live Nation in 2005 after working in concert promotion. Rapino signed a five-year contract extension in July 2022.
