Stiehm is currently serving her second term as President of the Writers Guild of America West. She led the Guild through 2023’s 148-day strike and has been a guild member since 1994. She served on the group’s board for six years before becoming President. Stiehm was a writer and executive producer of “Homeland” for five years – winning the Emmy, Golden Globe, Writers Guild, and Peabody Awards for drama series. The Beverly Grove-based union won a historic, three-year industry battle forcing talent agencies to drop “packaging fees” on film/TV projects in February 2021.
