Lourd was named chief executive of the talent-agency stalwart after helping broker the sale of a majority stake to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault’s Artémis investment firm, a deal valuing CAA at some $7 billion last year. The agency is home to such A-list clients as Tom Cruise, Scarlett Johansson, George Clooney, Lady Gaga and Zendaya. Lourd joined CAA in 1988 and was one of the trio of partners who took it over in 1995. Lourd serves on the board of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, Community Organized Relief Effort, and he’s a trustee for the American Film Institute. He had served on the board of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Lourd attended the University of Southern California, earning degrees in journalism and international relations.
