Founder, Chief Executive, Goop
Paltrow is an actress and the founder of Santa Monica-based Goop, which has an e-commerce website, a blog, a podcast and a travel recommendation site. She launched Goop in 2008 as a newsletter sent out to more than 10,000 readers. By 2011, the number of subscribers had grown to 400,000. An award-winning actress, she is also a New York Times best-selling author for her three cookbooks. In 2016, Paltrow was appointed chief executive by Goop’s board of directors, the same year that the company brought out its first clean skin care products and moved its headquarters from New York to Los Angeles.
