President, Chief Executive Cedars-Sinai Health System
Priselac joined Cedars-Sinai in 1979, becoming chief executive in 1994. He helped grow the flagship Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Grove into the largest hospital complex west of the Mississippi River. Cedars has expanded further in recent years, buying the 133-bed Marina del Rey Hospital, creating a joint venture with the Providence Tarzana Medical Center and forming affiliations with the 640-bed Torrance Memorial Medical Center and the 360-bed Huntington Health. Cedars-Sinai is now in the midst of construction of a 160-bed replacement hospital on its Marina del Rey campus; the nine-story hospital building is expected to open in about two years. Priselac has also focused more resources on medical research and education. Cedars-Sinai researchers have pulled in more than $100 million in research grants and other funding in recent years. In January, Priselac announced he plans to retire as soon as a successor is named and assumes the post.
