Executive Director, Biocom Los Angeles
Gober was named executive director of Biocom’s Los Angeles chapter late last year. Biocom is a bioscience industry resource and advocacy organization. The Los Angeles chapter opened in 2020 with a mission to advocate for policies to grow the Los Angeles region’s life science industry and to pull in more investment and grant funding. The organization now has more than 1,500 member companies and organizations. Prior to joining Biocom, Gober was involved in several companies that dealt with the region’s biosciences startups.
What’s the best advice you ever got?
Start saving for your retirement the day you start working.
What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
“Braveheart.” I had no expectation when I went to see this movie in the theater. I was amazed at the story and the passion and courage of William Wallace.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Take my family on a tour of Sicily.
What was your first car?
Would you like to have it back? I had a GMC S15; I would love to have that truck back.
What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
Visiting the Hollywood Bowl. This is the greatest outdoor concert venue.
