LA500 2024: Geoffrey Garrett

Dean, Marshall School of Business USC

Garrett, the 18th dean of the USC Marshall School of Business, assumed the role in 2020. He came to the university from the Wharton School, where he was dean for six years. He previously taught at USC from 2005-2008 and was president of the Pacific Council on International Policy. Garrett, an Australian, was founding CEO of the United States Studies Centre and dean of the business schools at The University of Sydney and The University of New South Wales. He has held appointments at Oxford, Stanford and Yale universities and is a member of the Australian Academy of the Social Sciences. Garrett serves on the boards for Park Hotels and Resorts and the Governing Council of the BITS School of Management in India. He holds a B.A. from the Australian National University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Duke University.
