Batrack has been with Tetra Tech since 1980 and was named chief executive in 2005 and chair in 2008. During his tenure as chief executive, Tetra Tech’s annual revenue has more than tripled to $4.5 billion last year, while its employee count has also more than tripled to about 27,000 spread across 550 offices around the globe. In late 2022, Tetra Tech won a bidding war to acquire British environmental consulting firm RPS for nearly $700 million; the acquisition closed in January of last year. That has led to a stream of contracts in the United Kingdom, which in turn have pushed the firm’s project backlog to record levels of nearly $5 billion. On the home front, Tetra Tech continues to rack up contract wins, both solo contracts and pieces of nine or ten-figure contracts awarded to multiple firms.
