Mahmoodzadegan co-founded the investment bank Moelis & Co. with Ken Moelis and Jeffrey Raich in 2007. He was instrumental in building the firm’s media and communications vertical. He’s advised on deals like Atairos Management’s acquisition of a 30% ownership stake in Opry Entertainment Group, Legendary Entertainment’s sale of a minority stake to Apollo Capital Management, and United Talent Agency’s sale minority stake sale to EQT Private Equity. On the sports side, he advised the ownership group including Todd Boehly and Santa Monica-based Clearlake Capital, in their $2.21 billion acquisition of the Chelsea Football Club. Prior to Moelis, Mahmoodzadegan was Global Head of Media Investment Banking and a member of the Americas executive committee at UBS Investment Bank. Recently, he advised the consortium of investors, including Santa Monica-based Clearlake Capital, on the acquisition of the Premiere League Chelsea Football Club. Mahmoodzadegan received his bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
