Gitlin took over Capital Group from long-reigning Timothy Armour in October to become the firm’s president and chief executive. Gitlin was promoted from Capital’s head of fixed income, and now leads one of the largest money management firms in the world with over $2.5 trillion in assets and more than 9,000 employees. Prior to joining Capital in 2014, Gitlin worked for T Rowe Price, where he led its fixed income vertical. He began his career as a trader, then helmed a number of equity verticals at Citigroup Global Markets. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University.
