Farmers & Merchants Bank was founded by Walker’s great-grandfather C.J. Walker in 1907, and the bank has been steered by the family ever since. Daniel Walker became chief executive of the bank in 2012 and served in that role until November of last year when he transitioned to Executive Chairman of the Board. He also serves as an advisory director of the YMCA of Greater Long Beach and a director of the Nell J. Redfield Foundation.

What’s the best advice you ever got? Back the ball. What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category? “The Godfather.” What’s at the top of your bucket list? A $10,000,000 win from the local casino. What was your first car? 1965 International Pickup “Green.” What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles? Surfing and skiing all within one hour of each other and on the same day.
