Karsh is one of the co-founders of Oaktree, one of the largest capital management firms in Los Angeles with almost $190 billion in assets. Prior to Oaktree Karsh was a managing director of TCW Asset Management and the portfolio manager for Special Credit Funds. Before joining the financial sector, Karsh earned a J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law and clerked for Judge Anthony Kennedy, then serving at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Today Karsh is a part of the ownership group for the Golden State Warriors as well as the Los Angeles Football Club, which became the first Major League Soccer team to reach a $1 billion valuation. Karsh was No. 35 on the Business Journal’s Wealthiest Angelenos list with an estimated net worth of $2.3 billion last year. He is a member of the investment committee for the Broad Foundations and a Trustee Emeritus of Duke University.
