Laugharn, who has more than 25 years of experience in the foundation and nonprofit world, is a leader in the movement to improve the lives of needy and vulnerable children. He previously served as executive director of the Fireflight Foundation, a nonprofit that supports Africa-based philanthropic organizations, and was executive director of the Bernard van Leer Foundation, a Netherlands-based organization that focuses on children up to 8 years of age. Laugharn began his career at Save the Children, and has degrees from Stanford, Georgetown and the University of London. He co-founded the International Education Funders Group and the Coalition for Children Affected by Aids, and serves on the boards of the Council on Foundations and the Pacific Council for International Policy.
