Kramer, as is to be expected for this high-profile position involving celebrities and art, has to deal with more than his share of, shall we say, drama. Strikes, on-stage altercations, and other assorted happenings are part of his job. He replaced Dawn Hudson in his current leadership role. Kramer oversaw the opening of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in 2021 – more than 550,000 tickets were sold in the first nine months of its operation. He has held a variety a roles at the Academy Museum, including managing director, and oversaw its first exhibition, “Hollywood Costume.” Kramer previously as vice president of development at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
