Breast Cancer Awareness, Prevention & Treatment 2023 More Back issues See E-Edition

It is more important than ever to rise to the challenge of preventing breast cancer together and encourage screenings of our friends, family and colleagues. All women need to be informed by their health care provider about the best screening options for them. When you are told about the benefits and risks of screening and decide with your health care providers whether screening is right for you — and if so, when to have it —informed and shared decision-making can take place, which is the most powerful weapon against the onset of breast cancer. Although screening cannot prevent breast cancer, it can help find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat.

The CDC asks all women to talk to their doctors about which breast cancer screening tests are right for them, and when they should have them.

In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have gathered a collection of articles and information to help keep our readers apprised of the latest movements in the fight against breast cancer.
