Pasadena-based engineering consulting firm Tetra Tech Inc. announced April 3 that it has acquired eGlobalTech, an information technology, cybersecurity and management consulting firm based in Arlington, Va., that primarily contracts with federal government agencies.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

eGlobal Tech will become part of Tetra Tech’s government services group, according to the announcement.

“The addition of eGlobalTech and their laboratory incubator will allow us to pilot and apply exciting new techniques that incorporate artificial intelligence, data analytics, and advanced cybersecurity solutions for our government and commercial customers,” Tetra Tech Chief Executive Dan Batrack said in the announcement. “Further, eGlobalTech brings us…new federal clients, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.”

Tetra Tech shares gained 45 cents April 3 to close at $59.96.

Tetra Tech was founded in 1966 and now has 17,000 employees worldwide. The company ranked No. 1 on the Business Journal’s environmental engineering and consulting firms list with roughly $2 billion in 2017 companywide billings.
