Prime Healthcare Enters into Joint Venture with Robotics Outpatient Surgery Center in Downtown LA

Ontario-based Prime Healthcare Services Inc. on July 8 announced that it entered into a joint venture with Robotics Outpatient Center – Los Angeles, a surgery center near downtown.

Prime Healthcare, which has 45 hospitals and more than 300 outpatient facilities in 14 states, made an equity investment of an undisclosed amount into the orthopedic, spine and urology outpatient surgery facility in L.A.’s Westlake district just west of downtown.

Robotics Outpatient Center specializes in minimally invasive procedures, including spinal surgery and restoration, laparoscopic urologic surgery techniquesand orthopedic sports injury repair. The center has three surgeons and four other employees.

Prime Healthcare’s investment will give patients access to these and other surgical techniques that decrease recovery time and reduce pain and suffering, according to the announcement.

“To serve patients where and when they need care, it is critical for us to go extend our reach to communities with convenient access to alternative, high-quality solutions,” Ali Zadeh, Prime’s corporate director of ambulatory surgery, said in the announcement.
“Prime Healthcare has been dedicated to providing clinically excellent acute care services to communities for more than 20 years,” he added. “Now we are further extending that dedication to patients through the growth and formation of ambulatory surgery.”

Prime Healthcare spokeswoman Elizabeth Nikels said that in addition to the financial investment, Prime Healthcare will provide management services for the center.
