Herbalife Makes Three Acqusitions

Downtown nutrition supplement company Herbalife Nutrition fully acquires two companies and a simple majority of a third.

Downtown-based nutrition supplement maker and distributor Herbalife Nutrition Ltd. announced a trio of acquisitions earlier this month totaling upwards of $30 million.

In the March 12 announcement, Herbalife said it had entered into a binding memorandum of understanding to acquire all the assets of Tampa, Florida-based health and wellness digital application company Pro2col Health LLC and Melissa, Texas-based ketone supplement maker Pruvit Ventures, Inc. The company also reached an agreement to acquire a 51% controlling ownership interest in manufacturing company Link BioSciences Inc., also based in Melissa, Texas.

While Herbalife didn’t release transaction values for the individual purchases, the company’s statement said, “The transactions are expected to close in the second quarter of 2025 and will cost approximately $25 million to $30 million, with additional conditional payments possible based on future performance.”

Big changes at the firm

Herbalife is a nutrition supplement maker with a global network of distributors for its products in more than 90 countries. It posted nearly $5 billion in revenue last year.

In February, Herbalife announced that former distributor and current company president Stephan Gratziani will become its next chief executive as of May 1. He will succeed Michael Johnson, who will end his third stint as skipper; Johnson will become the company’s executive chairman.

For Herbalife, two of these acquisitions will be run in tandem. Pro2col’s digital app uses individual biometrics to provide personalized nutrition recommendations. Link BioSciences uses a proprietary platform to process biometrics, biomarkers, DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and lifestyle data.

Link Biosciences will harness the information from Pro2col to formulate personalized nutritional supplements for customers.
