Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday announced a series of appointments to his business and economic development team, including a former development aide with the Los Angeles mayor’s office.

Brown named Kish Rajan as the new director of his office of business and economic development, or Go-Biz. Rajan, 42, of Walnut Creek, will join with Brown’s senior jobs advisor Mike Rossi to streamline state services for business and boost job creation, economic development and international trade opportunities.

In Los Angeles, Brown tapped developer Jeff Malin as a business development specialist at the governor’s office of business and economic development. Malin, 32, was a development aide to L.A. Mayors James Hahn and Antonio Villaraigosa before joining real estate development firm Amidi Group in 2006. He left Amidi last year and is now a project manager at Los Angeles affordable housing developer Adobe Communities.

Brown also reassigned Los Angeles resident Lillian Conroe to the post of small business specialist at the business and economic development office. Conroe, 56, had previously been a permit assistance specialist in the office.
