Los Angeles businessman Clark Parker has been named to the board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the region’s air pollution control agency.
Parker is founder and chief executive of Spectrum Surveillance Systems, which makes alarms and video surveillance systems. He also is founder of View Park Development Corp., a real estate firm, and of Natural Solutions, a cleaning supplies vendor.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District is the air pollution control agency for Los Angeles and Orange counties and the non-desert portions of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The agency sets and enforces pollution control regulations impacting local businesses.
The 13-member governing board is primarily made up of political appointees; Parker was named to the board by state Senate President Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento.
