Gov. Jerry Brown on Aug. 17 appointed Patricia Roski to the board of the California Science Center, among other local appointments. Roski is the daughter of Ed Roski, no. 9 on the Los Angeles Business Journal’s list of Wealthiest Angelenos with $5.3 billion.

Patricia Roski has spent the last 11 years as managing director at Majestic Realty Corp., her father’s real estate development firm. Prior to that, she was of counsel to the Century City law firm of Glaser Weil Fink Howard Avchen & Shapiro; before that, she was a real estate attorney at Allen Matkins. Roski graduated from USC and earned a juris doctorate from Loyola Law School. According to the announcement from Brown’s office, she is a Republican.

Brown also appointed Jennifer Lin to the science center board. Lin is a partner with the strategic and public relations consulting firm partner at Gonring, Spahn and Associates. From 1996 to 2006, she was director of corporate relations at DreamWorks SKG. Lin is a Democrat.

And Brown reappointed Fabian Wesson, wife of Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson, to the science center board, where she currently serves as chair. Wesson, a Democrat, has been an assistant executive deputy at the South Coast Air Quality Management District since 2016. Before that, she consulted for several Democrat state lawmakers.

The nine-member California Science Center Board administers the California Science Center in Exposition Park; the board is part of the state Natural Resources Agency. The board members receive no compensation.

Separately, Brown appointed Glendora accountant Nancy Corrigan to the state Board of Accountancy. Corrigan has been a partner at Westwood accounting firm SingerLewak since 2015. For 30 years before that, she was a partner and co-owner at Jeffery, Corrigan and Shaw.
