Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday named six new judges to the Los Angeles Superior Court, including three local private sector attorneys.
The three attorneys include Firdaus Dordi, 46, partner and co-founder at Dordi, Williams, Cohen LLP in downtown; Mark Epstein, 57, partner at Munger, Tolles and Olson, also in downtown; and Kevin Rosenberg, 47, of counsel at Lowenstein and Weatherwax in Century City.
Brown also appointed as judges public defender Ruben Garcia, 48; appellate attorney Gary Micon, 59; and deputy district attorney P. Tamu Usher, 47.
All the appointees fill vacancies left by the retirement or death of judges at the Los Angeles Superior Court. Their annual pay as judges is set by the state, and currently the compensation level is $191,612.
